To get the community together the council has organized community days with keynote speakers and discussions to gain input from the community on emerging topics, research funding and links with space missions and industry . You can see the program of previous community days in 2024 and 2025. The next community half-day will be organized 26 November 2026 from 9:30-12:00 at Dierenpark Amersfoort. The topic will be future Earth Observation research funding.
To have the most impact we want to bring together early career reseachers. To do so we aim to organize an earth observation summer school every year. In 2025 we teamed up with Open Geohub to co-organize part of their summer school which was held from 1-6 September in Wageningen. In 2026 we will organize our own summer school.
